0.2.0 — 3 October 2026
The biggest update yet: four kinds of zoom, a camera that can be framed, graded and cut out, editing by transcript, and automatic hiding of secrets.
- Four kinds of zoom — Auto from your clicks, Manual on one spot, Follow that travels with your pointer, and a Glass Loupe that magnifies just a lens.
- Camera layouts — screen only, a bubble, side by side or camera only, and switch between them part-way through. Five shapes, twelve colour looks or your own LUT, background removal, face tracking, and a bubble that slides out of the way of your cursor.
- Edit by transcript — your words, transcribed on this Mac. Delete a word to cut it. Remove filler words and tighten pauses in one click, and turn your voice into captions, karaoke style included.
- Hide secrets automatically — ScreenToast reads the recording for API keys, email addresses and tokens and covers every one, even as it scrolls. You review what it found.
- Stretch anything on the timeline — drag either end of a zoom, a title, a caption, music or a voiceover to make it longer or shorter.
- A cleaner voice — the microphone records through the same voice processing FaceTime uses, with stronger noise reduction afterwards.
- Export — GIF is back, plus a Web preset that starts playing at once, a custom size, export without audio, and copy straight to the clipboard.
- Polish — inset frames, device colours, crop, click sounds, a colour ripple, cursor motion blur, a looping cursor, and ⌘K to find any command.
- Fixed: with the camera on, your face could be about a second ahead of your voice. Camera and microphone now line up with the picture, and older recordings are put back in sync when you open them.
- Fixed: filming a screen that doesn't move could produce a shorter video than you recorded.
- Fixed: if the microphone recorded nothing, the take was kept silently without a voice. You're now told straight away.
- Faster and lighter — the recorder bar uses a tenth of the processor it did, scrubbing the timeline is seven times quicker, and old recording files no longer pile up on your disk.
- Space plays and pauses, ⌘S keeps a recording, ⌘E exports, ⌘0 brings back the main window, and the Dock icon opens your projects.
0.1.1 — 30 September 2026
- Fixed: an edit made in the last moment before quitting, opening another project or starting a new recording could be lost — including the zooms Auto Polish had just added. Every edit is now saved before you leave the project.
0.1.0 — 30 September 2026
First public release.
- Recording — full screen, a single window, or an area locked to 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 4:3. Microphone, system audio and camera, each optional.
- Auto Polish — runs on every recording: zooms on the clicks that matter, a smoothed cursor path, click highlights, motion blur and a canvas.
- Editor — canvas shape and resolution as separate choices, backgrounds, screen styling, zoom events, text overlays, privacy blur regions, camera bubble or split, split and trim, silence removal, undo and redo.
- Voiceover — a draft script written from what you did on screen, spoken by ElevenLabs with your own API key.
- Export — MP4, MOV and ProRes, ten presets, resolution capped at what was recorded so 4K never means an upscale.
- Free until you export. Record and edit as much as you like; the licence is what lets you take the file out.
- Universal binary — Apple silicon and Intel. macOS 14 or later.
