ScreenToast

ScreenToast / Features / Auto zoom

Auto zoom for your Mac screen recordings.

ScreenToast is a Mac screen recorder that zooms in on what you clicked, automatically. Record normally; when you stop, Auto Polish places a smooth zoom on each moment worth looking at, calms the cursor and keeps the frame full. Every zoom it places is yours to drag, retime or delete.

Record and edit free, no sign-in. Pro from $4.92/month when you export.

How the automatic zoom decides where to go

ScreenToast pays attention to what you did, not just what the screen looked like. While you record, it notes every click and how long you lingered. When you stop, it turns that into zooms:

Zooms come from clicks. A recording with no clicks — scrolling a page, reading — gets no automatic zooms, and you add your own with the zoom button, at the playhead.

A zoom that follows your drags

Hold a zoom while you drag a slider, move a card across a board or scroll a long page, and the frame travels with the pointer instead of losing it off the edge. Small twitches don't wobble the picture — it only moves when you actually go somewhere.

Follow cursor: the zoom tracks a drag across the screen.

A calm cursor that still arrives on time

Most recorders smooth the cursor while you record, which leaves the pointer visibly trailing behind your clicks. ScreenToast waits until you've finished and smooths the whole path at once, so the movement is calm and the click still lands exactly on the button. Polish the same recording ten times and it looks as crisp as the first.

Change any zoom by hand

  1. Find it on the timeline. Every zoom Auto Polish placed is a block you can see.
  2. Drag it earlier or later, or stretch it to hold longer.
  3. Set how far it zooms and how softly it moves in and out.
  4. Delete it if the moment didn't need it. Nothing is baked into your original recording.
